Aims of JCS


1- Financial loans for outstanding poor university students.
2- Teaching the deaf & dumb.
3- kinder gartens.
4- Holding intensive sessions for high school students.
5- English and Hebrew language courses.
6- Illiteracy Abolition for women and men.
7- Health education : No. 6 & 7 are row temporary suspended due to financial reason.
8- Practical Sewing Education.

1- Financial loans for outstanding poor university students.

a- JCS supports top class poor students who seek university education. Such money spent on them during their education is paid back to the society by each graduate over a period of 4 years graduation The loan is interest free.

b- Those students who wish to continue their post Graduate studies can still receive financial aid to the end of such studies.

c- So far the number of male & female students by JCS has reached total of 582 students.

d- Such number of students cover almost 53 villages the city of jenin .

e -The variable & wide range of subjects undertook by the students in cludes the following subjects :

   - Religious knowledge.

   - Engineering ( architecture, civil, mechanical, electrical, and computer).

   - Medicine.

   - Dentistry.

   - Pharmacy.

   - Science: Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology.

   - Computer science.

   - Agricultural science.

   - Geology.

   - Nursing.

   - Sports & others.

f - JCS supports poor high school students by paying their school fees.

2- Teaching the deaf & dumb.

   50 deaf students are enrolled at AL-Hanan School. The school's run by a lady principal and 8 lady teachers who are well trained for this kind of education.

   The students are taught reading, writing, Maths, weaving, sewing, needle working, embroidery and other handcrafts.

   JCS provides a hot meal dial and otter clothing in feasts . Also JCS provide earphones (hearing aids) supplies batt eries for each earphone, knowing that the battery doesn't serve for more than tow weeks .

Students are enrolled at  AL-Hanan School from the age of five to fifteen After that, the principal looks for jobs for them and she visits them in their workplaces JCS its students out of visit ancient and archeological places.

Welfare association the society $ 85000 to develop AL-Hanan School for the deaf children :

Provided the society with furniture and equipments

Help a course on Palestinian sign-language for the teachers supervised by the Holy-Land Establishment in Salt.

Opened a library and acomputer section and a sewing center for girls/

3- kinder gartens.

   JCS has 2 branches: one in Jenin in the main building of JCS and the other in Jalama . Jenin kindergarten began in 1998 with 2 teachers and 2 classes. It developed to 5 trained teachers and 5 classes of 100 children . It is the only kindergarten that teacher English Language .It is provided with the furniture and equipment needed. Two buses bring the children in the morning and take them back home in the afternoon.

   Al-Jalamah kindergarten serves 50 male & female  children who are taught and supervised by 3 well trained lady teachers.

   Welfare Association granted the society in 2001 $ 6000 to develop Al-Jalamah kindergarten.

4- Holding intensive sessions for high school students.

   * Due to INTIFADA, the results of the students frightened the whole community . The society planned to share in overcoming such a situation.

   * JCS began in 1990 holding remedian classes on English, Maths & Physics for the eleventh & twelfth classes for both males and females.

   * JCS accordingly in the second INTIFADA of sept. the 28 th, 2000, did  the same procedure by holding remedian classes for students of the area.

5- English and Hebrew language courses.

   Not only JCS is concerned in Education for students, but for employees as well. For this purpose, JCS  hosted English language course run by an expert female teacher sponsored by AMIDEAST.

6- Illiteracy Abolition for women.

   JCS hand 5 illiteracy abolition centers for women each of them included a class run by well trained lady teacher. Many women attended these classes and were taught to read, write, Maths and religion.

   This activity is suspended now due to financial reasons.

7- Health education .

   This project was started in 1982 . It was superintended by expert ladies in this field and a physician who offered domestic visits and provided advices for pregnant ladies UNDP supported this by providing contribution in kind such as, rise, oil, flour and milk, but it is not available now.

   This activity is also suspended now due to financial reasons.
